It's been a very long time since I've updated my blog here. I write more on my Happenings in Christine's World Blog found on Blogger than I do here.

Here is a bit about my past year.

It's the last day of 2011. Tomorrow the world begins a new year. As inhabitants of this earth, we have witnessed many world events together - the fall of Egypt and Libya, the great tsunami that hit Japan, the pulling out of United States troops from Iraq, a royal wedding, and the rage of Mother Nature throughout the United States.

Then there is my own personal events that occurred during 2011 - events that challenged my faith in people and rocked my own confidence.

Winter is ending. It’s been a long one (it seems). The first day of spring is today, which officially starts at 7:21 p.m. this evening.

Honoring the Combat Action Platoon

When my brother left for Vietnam I was only 11 years old, but I remember his time there well.

My brother enlisted in the Marines a few weeks before graduating high school. The following September he left for Parris Island, North Carolina. After graduating from boot camp he went on to Camp Pendleton, San Diego, California. From there he was sent to Vietnam as part of Combined Action Platoon. continuing reading here
