Year 2011 Becomes History

It's been a very long time since I've updated my blog here. I write more on my Happenings in Christine's World Blog found on Blogger than I do here.
Here is a bit about my past year.

It's the last day of 2011. Tomorrow the world begins a new year. As inhabitants of this earth, we have witnessed many world events together - the fall of Egypt and Libya, the great tsunami that hit Japan, the pulling out of United States troops from Iraq, a royal wedding, and the rage of Mother Nature throughout the United States.
Then there is my own personal events that occurred during 2011 - events that challenged my faith in people and rocked my own confidence.

Short Web Page Descriptions
Arts & Entertainment shares updates & links on the theatre scene, music entertainment, photograpy and art exhibitions. Highlights in particular: Love, Loss, & What I Wore (Off-Broadway show writen by Nora & Delia Ephron and Karen Carpenter, award winning director). The show is based on Ilene Beckerman's book of the same title.
The Wandering Pen describes places I've traveled to and what is interesting about those places. There is also a piece on this page that explains how to become a travel writer.
The Iditarod Alaska Race has held my attention for many years. I admire the perserverence of the racers and the love they show to their team of dogs. The Iditarod is called "The Last Great Race". Mushers and their team run through some of the most difficult terrain in remote areas of Alaska. The race unofficially begins in Anchorage and ends in Nome. Total miles ran within 14 days is over 1000 miles.
Authors/Writers Thoughts shares books and articles where authors/writers discuss writing. There is also links to podcasts and videos of authors/writers sharing their thoughts on writing. This is a page for anyone who has an interest in writing and publication.
Books to Read gives a select list of books for Adults, Young Adults, and Children to read. Some of the books I have read, while others have been recommended by friends or family.
My Blogs is a list of blogs that share thoughts and news on personal happenings & the writing journey, Native Americans, happenings in the area in which I live, and history/genealogy topics. Most of these blogs are in the early stages and still need some tweeking. Your comments and follows to my blogs are welcomed and appreciated.
Writing Samples is a page where pieces that I have been written throughout the years. Some of these pieces were the very first I've ever written.
Passion for History is a part of this website because it is a hot topic with me. I am a firm believer that if [as a society] we do not know our own family history or the history of the country in which we live than it's difficult to understand who we are. This page explains why studing history is important and shares links to websites of historical interests. Here you will also find photos of Inspiration & Travel, information on the Susquehannock Indians, website on Social Studies/Tolerance of Diverse Cultures, and information on the Clepper & Musser family. There is also the Clepper family tree and the Musser family tree.
Grandmother's Corner has everything to do with being a grandmother. Here are ideas of fun things grandmothers can do with their grandchildren from crafts to recipes.
Family & Teacher Links is a list of blogs and websites of parents and teachers who share the experiences of raising children and teaching them.
