Susquehannock Indians

For my Susquehanna River presentation I traveled to several different places along the river. At the bottom of the page is a link to the photos I took while at Safe Harbor, Pennsylvania.

At Safe Harbor I learned about the Susquehannock Indians that lived along the Susquehanna River

We traveled south on the east shore of the river. We came to Columbia and several other small towns along the way before making it to Safer Harbor. At Safe Harbor are several rocks that date back to the early life of the Susquehannock Indians. These rocks are called Petroglyphs. The only way to view the rocks are by boat.

Petroglyphs

After spending time in the Safe Harbor area, my husband and I doubled back towards Columbia where we crossed the Susquehanna River and entered York County in the Wrightsville area. From here we traveled to the Indian Steps Museum, which is an interesting museum that honors the spirit of the people. If you get the chance, stop by and visit.
